We are looking for a Production Baker / Production Supervisor to join a highly acclaimed bakery in the Metro Detroit area. Our client, a scratch bread production facility, is changing their schedule to offer every third weekend off and a 4-day work week, with a 12 hour shift (10am - 10pm). We need a talented Baker / Production Supervisor to lead the artisan bread baking operations of a very busy bakery that supplies restaurant and grocery retailers with high-quality, scratch-made artisan breads.

We are searching for an experienced Baker / Production Chef with high-volume bread production experience in an upscale, scratch kitchen. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Culinary Degree or Baking/Pastry Certificate from CIA, Schoolcraft, Johnson & Wales, or similar level culinary school
  • High-volume artisan bread baking using starters, scratch Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef experience
  • Expertise in ordering, inventory management, bread shaping, proofing, labor management, and scheduling
  • ServSafe Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts, or equivalent related experience
  • 8-10 years prior Foodservice sales experience with a food manufacturer, selling dry baking mix or dry grocery items directly to operators
  • Broad experience selling in the National, Health Care, College and University and Street segments preferred
  • Experience using a CRM system and Trade Fund Management software to manage work flows
  • Strong computer, communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated success in nurturing, developing and cold calling foodservice business
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
