CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT LEADER - ANN ARBOR, MI

Chelsea Milling Company, renowned leader in the food manufacturing industry known for producing the iconic “JIFFY” brand, is looking for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Project Leader to help transform and streamline processes across all business units. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability has driven our success, and we are now looking for a talented individual to lead our continuous improvement projects so that we can maintain and exceed our high manufacturing standards.

What will you do?

  • Partner with the Continuous Improvement Manager, Plant Manager, and department heads to identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance in the plant.
  • Utilize plant and equipment performance information to drive data-based decisions and actions.
  • Partner with Department Managers to develop the best plan for maximizing departmental output.
  • Work cross-functionally across departments, shifts, and employees to gather ideas and information on the best approach to improve processes.
  • Analyze data from the production floor, warehouse, logistics, and anything else that has a process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Continuous Improvement Engineer in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Food Science, or related discipline.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure clear communication with all levels of staff.
  • Analytical and logical thought process.
  • Great problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST

As the leader in dry baking mixes, the company is committed to staying ahead in a fast-paced digital world, and we're seeking a talented Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team and drive our online presence to new heights.

As a Digital Marketing Specialist at Jiffy Mix, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and generate leads. You will work closely with the Brand Content and Marketing Manager to create and implement campaigns across various digital channels, ensuring that our brand remains at the forefront of our industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, edit, and optimize digital marketing strategies across various channels, including social media, email, content marketing, and SEO, always ensuring brand consistency.
  • Monitor & report on growth, analytics of marketing campaigns, and content performance across all customer/consumer-facing platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Champion performance and market research data analytics to aid the team in the focus of campaigns across social media, company websites, email, and other platforms.
  • Monitor and optimize digital advertising campaigns to maximize ROI.
  • Manage digital marketing calendars and publish content.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and other departments to identify, recommend, and implement content that follows best practices – while maintaining brand guidelines.
    • Research competitors, target market, and relevant keywords.
    • Focus on strategies to elevate company/brand presence.
    • Optimize the use of SEO and other tools.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital marketing efforts.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure our strategies remain cutting-edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, with a track record of successful campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, AdWords, and social media advertising.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools.
  • Ability to quantitatively assess social and web analytics/data to adapt creative & business objectives in response to market feedback and user activity trends.
  • Proficient in publishing or participating in various customer/consumer-facing platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.).
  • Experience with MS 365 (SharePoint), Adobe Creative Suite, and various marketing software applications (CRM, Google AdWords, web analytics, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
  • Must be willing to commute to Chelsea, MI daily (Ann Arbor area).

MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT MANAGER - CHELSEA MILLING COMPANY

Chelsea Milling Company, renowned leader in the food manufacturing industry known for producing the iconic “JIFFY” brand, is looking for a Maintenance Department Manager to help transform the Retail Packaging business to the next level. We are currently upgrading 100% of the packaging equipment to all state-of-the-art technology. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability has driven our success, and we are now looking for a talented individual to lead our Retail Maintenance Department to even greater heights.

What will you do?

  • Partner with the Plant Manager and Retail business team to develop a world-class maintenance program that maximizes the ability to meet customer order demands and maintain target inventory levels.
  • Utilize plant and equipment performance information to drive data-based decisions and actions.
  • Partner with the Department Managers to develop the best plan for maximizing departmental output.
  • Lead and mentor a team of skilled maintenance technicians, creating a cohesive and motivated group. Set performance expectations, conduct regular assessments, and identify opportunities for professional growth.
  • Nurture a work environment conducive to harmonious employee relations across a three-shift operation.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs, preventive maintenance schedules, and predictive maintenance techniques to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Develop a model for on-the-floor servant leadership within his/her team.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the new technologies using preventative and/or predictive maintenance philosophies.

Must have a complete understanding of scratch-made dessert recipes and processes as well as bread starters and fermentation.

Required Experience:

  • Managing high-volume production of scratch-made artisan bread like French bread, whole wheat bread, sourdough, rye bread, Italian bread, etc. in a non-fully-automated bakery
  • Overseeing a 24/7 operation
  • Handling inventory and purchasing for flour, sugar, and other items used in the pastry department
